I loved my 2007 CBR1000rr can't say anything bad about it.....I've added a couple of pic, one of me and my son sitting on the 1000rr and one of us Saturday about to go for a ride on his new 2017 CBR500r...

Are you sure that's an 07? Silver was in 06 and 07, but 2007 CBR1000RR's came with black swingarms (on all colors) and 2006 came with silver (on all colors).

Well, i'm old and have a bad memory so I guess it could have been an 06....Damn, now i've got to go look for paperwork or I will go crazy......
Yup that's an 06.

The 07's had black swing arms. Also, the 07 silver had no wing graphics- just plain silver. Also, "Racing" under CBR was written in blue.

I had a Silver bike phase a few years ago after seeing how beautiful that 06/07 was. Made my 600 look kinda like it.

I just looked for paperwork and I can't remember for sure, so maybe I was thinking 07 because I bought it in 07? Anyway, It was an awesome bike!
06's and 07's are the same except for cosmetics anyways. Only reason I know the difference between 06 and 07 is because I liked the 06 front cowl on the red model and I wanted one on my red 07 front end. Coloring on the reds were indentical except for the front cowl, which I think the 06 would of looked better on the 07 with the black swingarm.

Dang, sad day haha. I'd sell my CB before I sold the Grom at this point. I'm having way too much fun with it. Partly because I got into a group of other Grom riders and now we get together once a month for a big ride, usually 30-40 Groms. I have a big ride next week with the Southern California version of us, and there will be over 100 Groms on that ride.

Plus it's fun to customize. I just finished lowering and stretching it. I wanted to tear down and paint for the big ride coming up, but I won't get it done in time, so after ride I'll tear it down again.

I still have a SC57 2004 and a SC59 SP 2014 also just bought a new 2017 SC77 SP2

My job is awesome. I get paid to see old cars all day, get paid to go to SEMA every year, etc. My job is pretty cool.

I'd trade if for a job in motorcycles in a heart beat though. I'd love to work for Honda.

well ... did not aspect to find that label....

It's neat... but also frustrating. The company has so much potential to make the most badass, beautifully perfect bikes that we'd all love but we don't. Especially in the US, sport bikes are such a small part of the market that 95% of our focus is on ATV and SXS. It's a shame, but it's the nature of the beast. Sportbikes don't make money.

But they do help build the brand.

Lol that would be somethin' alright.

If the VIN is listed as JH2SC77 then it's Japanese made for sure, probably the same Hammatsu plant that's done all high-end sport bikes through Honda. The only Chinese made Honda's I know about are small modern off-road bikes, like the CRF110F. The VIN prefix on those is LAL.

I did a ton of studying of our VIN structure and found out a hell of a lot about where model names (SC77, SC60, PC40 etc) come from as well as different parts of the VIN. Don't need to post it up here but I've thought about sharing it to fellow owners before.
