Exactly my point ... what has changed from yours?
sorry, to correct myself the z900se in England is $11,300 compared to the hornet sp at $9,999 here in Canada the z900se is $13,400 compared to the Honda at $19,100. Can anyone explain how this makes any sense to me ?In England I think the hornet 1000sp was way cheaper than the z900se by like 2000 euros

noice, sounds quite good...MCN Michael Neeves road test review of the new CB1000 Hornet SP. He loves it. "A fantastic sports naked..." A step forward, it seems...
Woww! Big difference!sorry, to correct myself the z900se in England is $11,300 compared to the hornet sp at $9,999 here in Canada the z900se is $13,400 compared to the Honda at $19,100. Can anyone explain how this makes any sense to me ?
CBRs use cable clutches1. It's a cable clutch, a step back
AUD$17,800 RRP (+ dealer costs, rego etc..) = ~$19500 ride away price + acc (exactly same as Kwaka Z1000)I saw the new CB1000 Hornet at the local bike show about a week ago. Mostly, I loved it. But:
1. It's a cable clutch, a step back ( in my opinion) from the hydraulic unit on my 2013. Light pull, but still, guys... 2025!
2. The side rad covers are shiny black plastic. The rest of the bike is at it should be: flat black. Aesthetic faux paux of the n'th degree. Aftermarket paint job a necessity!
3. No cruise control is close to being a deal breaker at this level of machinery and cost. My riding buddy "x'd" it immediately for that factor alone!
4. In Canada, $19k. Equivalent in the UK $17,5k. Not an impossible gap, but it'd be nicer to be closer to the Euro price... but it's only money...
Overall, if I were shopping for a new machine, it'd take something that I've not yet consdered to turn me away form the new beast. ne could probably fit a hydraulic clutch conversion... and the rad sides covers is just a paint job away from perect! And I've lived this long without cruise control so i suppose I'd endure that too...
Nope, SC80 was the first CB1000R model to get it(does SC60 have slip/assist?)
are you saying that by switching the switch gear, and (somehow) reprogramming the firmware, you could add cruise control? really? in this world, or some dream?yeah, should have cruise control.. Honda have switch blocks for it, and is basically just electronics/firmware
i think very unlikely that WE could reprogram the firmware... but Honda certainly should have to at least allow it as a simple accessory (like Triumph).are you saying that by switching the switch gear, and (somehow) reprogramming the firmware, you could add cruise control? really? in this world, or some dream?
