The lines the Kwak was taking were sh1t. No wonder the pushbike caught them up.

On a similar note I was in a steep and very narrow downhill last week and behind a keen cyclist. I was showing 50 mph+ and staying with him. I backed off near the end as I knew plod were at the bottom of the hill with a speed trap, as had gone up same hill 30 minutes before. The road was signed as a 40 and drops to 30 as it enters the village where the cops sit.

I went through the speed trap at 30, but the cyclist was still doing 50 and they didn't care. Presume no number plate, so no fine?

..to be fair cyclists who overtake other vehicles at speed downhill (when the other vehicles are slowing for things like bends and other traffic) are d*cks...I see it a lot - they don't care that they can hurt or injure a pedestrian if they lose control on 50mm of tread contact, no brakes and no stability when flat out...nobs riding in a pelatron wobbling up hills on 60mph roads...I just give them all the space they need and a very wide berth - I don't want to hurt them, but some of them ride like utter dicks in completely the wrong places on busy roads...As a pedestrian a guy just about missed me flying out of a blind exit to a car park - I was too shocked to tear a strip off him - utter d*ck ! So basically I don't give a f*ck about them, but try and wear a sensible road head ...

Oh I have plenty to say about cyclists, but that's not really what I learned from the video. Of course he could have done what we tell ourselves to do when we see a dickhead motorist ahead - hang back, keep out of the way. But how many of us prefer to get in front of, and as far from the up-coming accident as possible .... then tell others they should mellow :)

The cyclist could have predicted that the idiot would have tried to take him back. However I am pretty sure he had not considered that the bike would overtake him on the inside and them push him into the other lane. I am sure a judge would apportion some blame to the cyclist if this had ended in tears.

But the front biker needed to slow the fuck down and get off that road. He apparently didn't recognize that and felt it was OK to perform that death-defying overtake. If he had just slowed down a hair, the cyclist would have whizzed off into the distance and biker could have got on with driving himself head-on into a lorry or something.

I hate bicyclists. I'm sure it's the same way people who have never rode hate motorcyclists haha.

That being said, rider in front couldn't ride for shit, and then looked like he got his feelings hurt when cyclist passed him. Rider in front was an absolute moron. If he was a new rider (most likely), he should of left his ego at home.

Plenty of disturbing bicycle hate in here. I guess I will address it. Disclaimer: I don't own a bicycle, spandex makes me puke, and have never worn a helmet while pedaling a bike.

Lots of bicyclists ride like dicks, lots of motorcyclists ride like dicks, lots of motorists drive like dicks, lots of lorries drive like dicks, lots of pedestrians cross the street like dicks, etc. etc. You have to face it, dickheads come in all shapes and sizes.

Lumping all of a certain group together because a few of their ilk have pissed you off in the past is nonsensical. All people are different. Think about it. How many times has a motorcyclist pissed you off? How many videos of motorcyclists being utter twats have you seen? Do you now hate all motorcyclists? Of course not. We accept the fact that even though there are a lot of them, they don't represent all motorcyclists by any means. There are plenty of responsible bicyclists that follow the rules and are considerate of others and plenty of jackasses that don't do either of those things. Point is, treat each one as an individual and judge them based on their own actions, not the actions of others. The ones that are being dicks? Flame the hell out of them, call them out for their bullshit, just don't take it out on the next guy.

Share the road! We all pay for it and have to use it together.

Sorry for getting all preachy.

To be fair my point was that I respect cyclists and their space and would never intentionally try to put them in danger - unfortunately cyclists are just random people on wheels - no training required and no specific rules of the road seem to apply ( even as far as riding on the right side of the road ) - too many cyclists are oblivious and a horrendous danger to pedestrians and too many 'serious' cyclists (I'm sure not all) ride very aggressively and inconsiderately as well as again, with complete oblivion ! I just grit my teeth, give them space and let them get on with it, but many times you can see them almost deliberately placing themselves in danger ...

To be honest I'm a ridiculous old curmudgeon and hate car drivers and some other bikers with equal measure if I feel like they have driven like a pr*ck ! On that count I probably hate myself too !!!

LOL. To be fair, you guys have to deal with about 100 time more cyclists than I do.

I'm currently teaching my oldest to drive and one of my lessons is ALL drivers are idiots and ALL of them are trying to kill you if you let them. Hyperbole, I know, but I will gladly throw everyone under the bus if it keeps her safe!

Crawler. !!!!
:rollin

Not really - I hate those Lycra clad, arrogant, lunatics as much as you pal but hey live and let live :thumbup

I was out in the car last week on a narrow country lane as approached two cyclists who were side by side.

There was a left hand bend coming up I sounded my horn to alert them in the hope they would go to single file (they didn't).

As I passed them I was given the finger for my trouble - should have just mowed the w4nkers down.

I disagree with you !!!!! That's NOT Hyperbole that's FACT. Especially, and including, those that are not out to run you down but just don't even notice you exist.

Cyclists don't pay for it.

I have to pay road fund licence on my bike and cars. Plus I have compulsory insurance on all of them.

Push bikes don't.

Over here they even have special lanes and segregated roads for them. Paid for by... You've guessed it, the bikers and car drivers.

The buggers then don't even ride in their special lanes, they ride wherever they want, and for many in London traffic signals are obviously optional.
