There was a time that having not logged into the site for a couple of days it would take ages to catch up on new posts. The site was buzzin and always a good read. There seems to be alot less posts going on these days. Am I missing something.

I can't stand the new forum layout. That's all really. It's nowhere near as inviting as it was.

I gotta say I do prefer the old layout. I dont get notifications all the time anymore either. It appears to be set up and sometimes works but not always.

Nothing to do with being Summertime as the weather is totally shit at the minute, its all to do with the new site, it might be better in areas that I don't use but I find it very Sterile and unwelcoming in its new layout.:potty

A lot of people definitely seem to have disappeared from here! And a lot of the banter?
Most of the banter was the girls trying to score off one another. Pmsl.

Not a mention of bikes, sometimes, in whole threads.

Hmm, different perspectives I think, yes sometimes threads got a bit hijacked and off topic but the banter was fun , doesn't matter to me if people were trying to score points , in fact , seems like you are doing the same thing here Colvert ?? ....

Re the new look, I don't mind it at all, but I do miss the old banter, and banter apart you had a lot of good varied input from the guys, a lot of the experts no longer post on here which is a real shame.

Anyways ..safe riding ...

I quite like it TBH. The new layout is IMO better than before and catching up on missed threads / posts doesn't involve reading through endless crap :thumbup

Yeah there was alot of endless crap from one or two individuals but we do need to keep the banter going... it's the life and soul of a forum.

As far as the board/layout is concerned, I'm also not that keen on it.... Vbulletin is a better option than what we had before and some of the features are better but I agree it is sterile... this has been raised, personally I still like good old orange text on black! :)

Again, I think it is perception, I didn't think it was endless crap at all, I think the main reason this forum is so quiet and not half as fun now is because the 1 or 2 individuals have left, taking with them a wealth of knowledge as well.

I still can't understand why people moaned about it, surely it is like a tele, if you don't like the program you switch to another channel, in this case read another topic instead.

Anyways, it is what it is now, hope some of the mirth and banter comes back.

I think the content of the forum is better now - with more bike related topics, a reasonable amount of banter and still some good events/ ride outs being held between members. There was a bit of argument about the rights and wrongs a few months ago which may have put some people off, similarly the change in format has given some of us the wobbles.

There seems to be lots of new members joined and the forum has more of an international feel to it.

I've gone to another forum to talk about the technical bits of my new bike, but pop back here to stay in touch. Also it's the summer which means everybody is out on their ........... jet-skis ;)

The good weather tends to bring new members, but whether they feel like posting or not will often depend on how they view the people who are posting now. Are they helpful? Are they insulting? Also, can they find the information they need without creating a new post? Does search work better now?

As for banned members - we don't have any of those. Nobody is banned and don't listen to anyone who says otherwise

I actually forgot about that......... There are no banned people. A couple might have been escorted off the estate for a while, so to speak, but not banned.

Actually, it's not entirely accurate. We have banned people who came on to just punt their own wares, especially those that looked like blatant spam. But no genuine member who has actually contributed has actually been banned. Some may have been suspended for a period, but it's always been lifted
