my bike is getting into middle age now ( 110,000+ kms) and while I've had no engine problems and regular service and valve clearance has always been maintained, I wonder a bit about wear, so I intend to do a compression and leak-down test to check the 'state-of-the-art'. I'm also a little bit concerned about the bluing of my number 4 exhaust pipe ( see: http://www.hondacb1000r.com/forums/maintenance/18145-one-exhaust-pipe-bluing.html), which I think indicates that cylinder is running a bit lean. the mechanic I was talking to ( not a Honda tech, but a well-experienced guy) suggested I should balance the throttle bodies. well, OK, I'm aware of the possibility, but (a ) there is NO mention of this procedure in the service manual, and (b ) a couple pages specifically instruct you to NOT adjust certain screws and bolts on the throttle bodies, which are factory set.

does anyone have enough specific mechanical knowledge of the fuel injection system on the CB1000R to cast some light on this - it's wayyyyy out of my league!
