Swingarm Pinch Gap

On my 2023 CB1000R:

When adjusting the chain, I loosened the pinch bolts, but when tightening back, I noticed there is a gap in the swingarm bearing hub that remains after the pinch bolts are tightened.. I didn't notice this gap before I loosened the bolts, so not sure if there is supposed to be a gap there or not..
can anyone confirm? It seems that the gap is by design. If thats the case, wont it attract dirt?

pinchbolts don't work without a gap

looks normal
make sure both bolts are torqued up.. go back and forth between them, as tightening one affects the other

You'd better use a torque wrench or you can cause damage

i write the torque value near the bolts with Liquid Paper/whiteout, so I don't forget

On the SC60 it's a single pinch bolt. A dealership destroyed the bolt threads right at that gap when they replaced the chain on my 2014.

Destruction is a likely scenario when you go to a dealer, in many cases the techs are as dumb as a box of rocks. I stay the f away. Even bought my own lift so I can...

If your chain needs adjustment at 599 miles, do it yourself.

Yeah, I'm planning to do all the maintenance myself, but I figured the dealership should get a good look at the machine one last time, assuming their checking for loose fasteners, etc.

Yup, I'm not saying don't have the dealership do the 600 mile service, I'm saying adjust the chain at 599 miles if it needs adjusting. Then the dealership won't have to touch the swingarm pinch bolts.
