Yeah I’m there with youBasically downshifting needs a closed throttle.
I don't think I'd pay for a QS as an add-on again. Maybe in the future all bikes will have them from factory.

The bike doesn't go into gear any faster, but with the throttle fully pinned during shifts you'll get faster lap times or 1/4 mile times.I can’t say it felt much faster than clutchless up shifting
Throttle has to be closed for it to be smooth. It it's not smooth, then activation might not have taken. Installation instructions aren't 100% accurate as pointed out by my installer and @guycnicholas. See step 5.1Downshifting and the auto blipper were a bit herkey Jerkey.
I would, and I've enjoyed clutchless upshifts and throttle blipping with conventional throttles for decades. The NSC QS is not as seamless upshifting throughout the entire rev range as the OEM QS on my CBR1000S1, but it's still pretty sweet, especially when hammering the shifter from 6 to 1.I don't think I'd pay for a QS as an add-on again.
