I think I prefer the bike in this form. I don't want wings and 180 hp on my naked bike once you get past 100 mph it becomes too turbulent to maintain that for any length of time anyways, id take a lower compression longer lasting more reliable engine, the price of the nsc was appealing to me too, and jacking up the price and hp to fit in with the supeduke, tuono, street fighter would have ruled me out. But once I see the new design I'll probably change my mind and drool and dream 🤷♂️
Honda always gets criticized for taking the "reasonable" approach but I must say that I agree with their direction most of the time. I did not buy my CB1000R to race on the street, and riding at triple digit speeds is far too risky from legal point of view. Where I live if you get caught going that speed you can kiss your drivers license good bye. That would totally upend my entire families life if I lost my license.
I'll take good hard acceleration up to the speed limit vs. top end speed any day. The idea that a STREET bike needs 'winglets' for high speed performance is just plain stupid imho.
