Hi,

Take delivery of my new bike in a few weeks and am looking at a few mods to make it suitable for when I go on long runs(probably few times a year) or days out.


First up is a bit of wind protection, not looking for anything too massive or line ruining, so looking at the below:

Have already got a Shad 50 litre top box from a previous bike, so looking at a sport rack for the back seat, partly because I can't find any racks that fit it:

Have got a set of oxford heated grips that I never got round to fitting to my last bike, so will consider fitting them if I can find somewhere suitable to mount the controller:

Anyone got any experience with any of the above, or suitable alternatives?


And what lock do people use, is there anything good that fits under the rear seat for everyday use?

For a windshield that small, I'd look into the one from the CB650R, it fits right onto the mounting bolts and has a much cleaner look, IMO.

I was unimpressed with my sportrack. The fit was a bit rattly and while the foam the provided helped a little, it wasn't perfect. I'm not sure I'd use it for a permanent solution like a top box. I'd be tempted to buy a spare seat off partzilla and just drill into it for mounting brackets.
