Hi guys,

After I read the reviews I thought it was time to take action and just to buy this bike :)
Honda Amsterdam promised me to deliver the bike (with ABS) in June and as it happened a Japanese guy from the factory was visiting the dealer and he confirmed that my bike was on stock and ready to be delivered in June.
After some doubt between green and white I am going for the Pearl Cool White version.
So it seems logocal to introduce myself to the CB1000R owners club.

Good move,

I am waiting for my bike to arrive in black, just ordered it 8/5/2008. Same situation as you, I joined this club to keep my craving under control until the bike comes. Everyone seems really friendly, but just a tad frustrated at the wait.

The only problem is that we are having all this nice weather and I am not willing to have a ride on my own bike (the part ex), as I don't want to temp fate (you hear others and their horror stories, sometimes even riding to pick up their new bike they trash it or similar). So I am trying my best to refrain from a ride.

Cheers

Hi Mark :welcome

Glad to have you with us. Are you a member of the Facebook CB1000R group? I recognise your avatar from there I'm sure.

I think you're the first person to admit to having considered a green bike before a black, silver and white bike. Personally I don't think it's a bad colour, certainly not as bad as many are saying, but it is my fourth choice from the current selection. It's got to be black! :lol

Dylan, my part-ex bike is my every day run around. Don't put those kind of fears in my head now! :banghead

I think the yellow/greeny colour is rather cool, but I am afraid that I will get bored with it within no time - Because I will use this bike in the winter when in Amsterdam the mornings and evenings are pitch dark - black is not a real option if you want to be seen by cars - So shiny white it is... :thumbup

When I bought my first Hornet in black my Mrs went ape at me because she thought I wouldn't be visible. I pointed out that from head on the only colour would be a little on the front because of the front mudguard, and very little on the rear because you obviously see the black tyre and the black undertray, so the colour makes little difference to visibility on a naked I think. Sure, a lighter coloured bike is more visible from the side, but when would you be seen from the side? My theory is to get the colour you want and if you want to be visible then get a brightly coloured helmet and jacket :rollin

I do like the white though! :thumbup

yeh, probably you are right. My Rukka jacket is black, my Arai Pearl White - so it will be a nice mix I guess - and let's face it one of the main reasons we all want this bike is because of its looks :p
