I've just renewed my insurance on my 2006 600 Hornet today. Bearing in mind that I'm 29 and that I've totalled a bike in the past couple of years, as well as doing £1700 worth of damage when the bike mysteriously fell over, I was quite pleased with the deal I got.

Last year I paid £566 (zero no claims discount) for fully comp insurance. This year, with one years no claims I've got it down to £385. I've remained with Motorcycle Direct, though my policy is actually with AXA. £250 excess, ride other bikes as 3rd Party, Personal Injury Benefits, UK breakdown cover, 30 day European cover and legal cover. I didn't think it was bad, though it's now about the price I paid for my first year. Damned accidents :D

That sounds like a right bargain Ant. :clap

I always have to get re-quotes to get either same price
or lower. :blah

I think I'm with Bennetts, £90 fully comp 1 yr NCD. Not bad for an oldie. :smoke

My first year with Bennetts would've been around the same price that I'm on now, but I hadn't binned the bike by then, and then had the other fall over when I wasn't anywhere near it. All things considered I reckon I'm back to the starting point which isn't too bad. Finally having a bike is being affordable again (until the CB? :D)

fully comp insurance
Learning well, you are Jedi.

It's the only way to go for a new-ish or expensive bit of kit. Third party is for shit-boxes only.
