Hello to all out there in see bee world :hello

Names Stuart,43 and from Dundee,Scotlandshire way...

Got myself a 57 plate R1 and an 05 gsx 1400,but having just seen the cbthou I am now in serious discussion with my local dare I say it Honda dealer (I'm not gay or owt honest )

I've been an anti Honda man all my days, but it seems I may have to give in....as I think the CB is amazing :banghead

The R1 is the bike that will probably go to make way for it,but I won't have any regrets as I think my old bones can't take the sportsbikes any more ,so I'm looking for a full run down from anyone who has one of said beasts, :clap obviously not anyone from the UK mind given they ain't been launched yet :rollin

Cheers peeps :twofin

Hi Stuart, :welcome

I'd take a read of this article, which was written by Marc Potter, the editor of MCN. Nobody is yet able to say what the CB is like to live with, but this early review, along with all the others written by the journalists who attended is very positive! (Have a search for Ayahuasca's posts as he was one of the journos who went along and is a member here).

If you want to know anything about the bike, you're in the right place. Ask away and I'm sure your answer will come shortly.

Oh, and you should've received an email and a PM with your club membership details by now :thumbup
:welcome

I think you'll have to wait about one more month before anyone will be able to give you a everyday owners opinion of the bike.

There are plenty of press/magazine reviews now though, and some of those have been added to the forum.

Tough choice selling the R1 though... awesome bike - I currently own a 07 naked FZ1.

Cheers for the welcome guys,

I've had a few reads of the jurno stuff, but it's the usual from these guys :zzz

Had a shottie of a mates 07 FZ1 and really liked it,but told him....it ain't no R1,to which he didn't like my reply :rollin

As for selling the R1,it's my 3rd but the days of us all going mad at 140+ are gone I'm afraid and having jumped back on it after 4 weeks on my 1400,I really am getting to old,fat and unfit to ride these things now adays, and having been a sportsbike man all my days I couldn't believe how much fun you can have on a naked bike :clap
Hmm, I currently own a 600 Hornet and it's good for 135+ so I don't see as you need a sports bike to have high speed fun, though granted it's not so stable at those speeds. Makes it more fun I reckon :lol

:lol yeah it's certainly no R1 but it can hold it's own.... a few low cost mods do transform the bike though....

The CB1000R is visually a beautiful bike.... lets hope all the good things we are hearing about it prove to be true. In my case I can't buy one yet but may consider one in 2009.
:welcome to you. You do of course realise that if you don't tell us what "The DBF" means we will simply make our own name for you!! ;)
My days of trackdays are behind me also,so no much need for a full on sportbike now me thinks.

These...so called supernaked are a match for most on the public roads in the right hands :clap
Welcome mate, dare I ask what happened to the other 2 R1s?

Oh go on then, how about The Dundee Bollock Fiddler :D :evil
The DBF stands for Dundee Bikers Forum which is owned and run by yours truly :clap

You'd have to register to rad though I'm afraid,it being a local forum,it occasionally gets it share of neds,so we have to make it members viewing only :twofin
