I do not want to add an engine guard ( which makes the bike look ugly ) and mount the lights on it .
Has anyone tried mounting auxiliary lighting directly on Engine frame 1" inch bar ?

Would you think it would be a good idea, to mount either Baja or Denali D7 lights on that frame ? I was planning on also mounting small Puig lights besides the headlights too.

I don't do a lot of mods. Radiator guard is usually the extent of my mods. However I did add Honda heated grips, quick shifter, and SC-Project slip-on to the NSC.

I put a set of these on my Z900rs and am very happy with them. You should be able to see them in the pic I posted of both my bikes, if want another angle let me know.
DENALI DRL Daytime Running Lights with Universal Fender Mounting Kit | Amber or White
I am not sure if those lights are powerful enough to speed at night. I am planning to ride late nights making weekly trips from Montreal to Toronto at average speeds higher than 140 kms/hr. I was looking for something powerful like the Denali D7 , Baja rally riding lights or the Evotech lights to see longer range. The stock lights are really bad at nights & you really cannot speed with the light output it has.

After watching my friend hit a deer right in front of me in broad daylight, not sure I'd be comfortable at speed, no matter how many lights I had.
My brother hit a moose at 2am riding his 1982 kawasaki z750F at about 180km at night. The bike was a write off and the whole engine block tore open. He broke his upper arm and shoulder and was in coma for 3 days. A few days later when they took off the cast they had on his upper arm and shoulder they realised they pinched a nerve in his shoulder that disabled the movement of his wrist. This wrist was like a dead turkey neck for almost 2 years, till we finally found a specialist that could fix his wrist.
