Hi, may sound daft but here goes, when the front wheel is on a stand should the wheel move freely as in keep spinning? It's just that it's been stood for afew month and decided to put it on its stand and clean the bike but noticed the wheel doesn't spin properly if that makes any sense. Thanks

The brake pads float on the rotors so there's always some friction. Remove the brake calipers and see how freely the wheel spins.
