Here in California we have a ton of race tracks and loads of trackday opportunities. One fun opportunity is a street-based cornering school run by an ex GP racer called Can Akaya. The school runs on a go-kart track. Here's some end-of-the-day video from me doing day 2 of the 3 day school.

The Ohlins and Racetech suspension upgrades mean my CB is totally rock solid all around this tight track. The long, decreasing radius corner is one where I hang off (I'm no expert) as far as I can, and yet I was still scraping my footpeg consistently. Not saying that to say I am awesome, but to say I have total confidence in the bike! It is still way faster than I am :)

That's awesome! That's my home track (for the Grom). I literally work right across the street from that track too. You can see where I work a few times in the video. I'm surprised they let you run the CB on the track though. The manager is a good friend of mine and restricts it to mini bikes and SuperMoto's, well, and go karts of course. When was this? I totally would of came out for this if I knew haha.

EDIT: must of been because of the school and class. Any other time and they wouldn't let the CB out there.

Home track? Coolness. It must be fantastc for the Grom. There were R1s, a Panigale and other cool stuff too. My little CB outshone them all. But I think that's coz most of the riders are ... novice.

This class just happened on Sunday, 12th. If you want to get in on the action, go here https://www.superbike-coach.com/ he has a calendar of events. He does a 3-day cornering school, a knee-down class and a wheelying class - he has a cool wheelie rig that he can bolt on his race-prepped 1290 Super Duke.

The Grom was fun on the track, but I was just too big on it (6'3") to have any kind of decent seating/riding position for track riding. I enjoyed the crap out of my Grom while I had it, but it's gone now. I plan on replacing it with a DRZ400SM this summer and then hopefully take that out there. Track is literally across the street, so I could go ride the ride on my lunch break and then go back to work haha.
