Any recommendations for a bluetooth headset that would fit an integral helmet (X-lite X-602) and work well with Garmin (Zumo 550) satnav as well as an intercom with a buddy rider or pilion passanger? Suggestions of economic solutions with links to vendor pages will be much appreciated...

I have this one... http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle- ... tercom.htm

It's a well made piece of kit and works faultlessly with my mobile phone to make and receive calls. I haven't tried it bluetooth to bluetooth with another rider or pillion but I would imagine it would work quite well.

Unfortunately it doesn't support AD2P so I can stream music to it from my mobile... not that I probably would ever do that but it would be nice to have the facility. I too may buy a Garmin Nuvi 550, but seeing as it is a year or so old now, was holding on to see if a new model is released. I do not know if the Interphone will work with the Garmin but I would be very surprised if it did not.

A Nuvi on your bike Dan? :stop

I have a Zumo 550 and usually just look at the map. I don't use bluetooth for a phone, but bought this set recently, hangs round your neck like a dogtag and has stereo sound (with the right cable).
It's a Jabra BT3030 bought it from Amazon.

Lots of info here for Zumo fans: http://www.zumoforums.com/index.php?action=forum

Am now thinking of this wired solution (AE 600S) http://www.alan-uk.com/midland/products_ae600_series.shtml
Balancing the cost/quality of sound/walkie-talkie connectivity of wires against the wireless freedom of Bluetooth (twin sets or even the AE 600BT are still a bit pricey: http://www.louis.de/_40ac352d289cf27f7da25079c9a7d95a6d/index.php?topic=search&searchterm=AE+600).
Is the cable hanging down from one's helmet really that bad? Is not having it really worth the extra 100 quid and poorer sound?
