Has anyone found a viable solution to stopping Massive vibration when mounting an action camera on thier Bike? I have an SJ4000 (Brilliant Cam for the money) its mounted on the front fairing of the bike, but on the backroads and some main ones where ther tar grade is bad I get massive vibrations. I now mounting it one the helmet gets rid of that, but I'm really looking at having it mounted on the front as it provides a better overall view and feel.

It's like a GoPro Hero type so same type of twisty mounts, I will try and figure out how to upload a vid I did.

Any advice welcomed.

Fairing is a bad place to mount. You're always going to have vibration unless you get one of those gyro do hickeys (so awesome), but the fairing is probably one of the worst. I have a RAM mount ball on one of the bolts of my handlebars, and then a RAM extension to my camera. I had a 4" one, but I didn't like where camera was and found a 2" one, and there much less vibration on the 2" vs the 4". I'll try to get pix posted up later today.

Not the best picture because of dark background, but it's all I have here with me at work right now. The sphere on top is my camera. A GoPro mounts in the same way, and I'm sure your camera could too.

I ordered a Handle Clamp Base ball from here:
Motorcycle Bases | RAM Mounts

That just replaces one handlebar bolt with a new bolt and a ball.

Then I ordered one of these to attach to it:

And finally ordered one of these for my GoPro (also works with camera pictured).

And ended up with this:

I like a helmet mounted shot. It's much more dynamic and your neck makes a good stabilizer.

I do love ram mounts, though. There are so many different configurations you can build, and depending on how you set it up, the rubber takes a lot of the vibration out. If you set it up poorly or try to use a long arm, you can actually make video worse since the extra movement will induce jello shots, and I don't mean the good kind. I have mounts for my phone, radar detector, GPS, and several different bolt-on mounts for the gopro.

This was originally a handlebar mount that I enlarged the holes and bolted to the tank. It's a great place for the phone or GPS mount. I got that idea from another forum member here, but can't remember who.

I love these little mounts. You can put them just about anywhere there is a bolt.

It's surprisingly good for what it is, but it does depend on the phone weight, size, and texture and how wild you are getting. I lost a phone out of it, once. To be fair to the mount, it was an unusual circumstance caused by me doing sketchy shit with the bike. My current phone is lighter and smaller that the one that fell out and I haven't had any problems with it moving around in the mount. If it's a phone you are attached to and you plan on getting stupid, I suggest using a tether, just in case.

You can see my in-depth review here. http://www.hondacb1000r.com/forums/modification/13920-my-review-ram-x-grip-phone-mount.html

Found the solution, at least for me. It's a little low, but works fantastic. I tried it on my Grom first because that thing vibrates LIKE CRAZY. No place was good. Then I bought a GoPro Roll Bar mount and mounted it on my forks, then went for a ride. Perfectly steady, no vibration. Well shit, ordered another one for my CB since it worked so well, and actually just tested it today. I'll know later today if it works when I check the footage. I'll report back. Worked amazing on my Grom though. I have an old GoPro 3+ Silver too, so none of the fancy smancy built in stabilization stuff. When I get my Hero5, it'll be even better. It's a little small for the CB, so the curvature isn't exactly big enough to wrap forks closely, but it's dang close, so hoping footage is as good as my Groms.

Sorry guys, had a guy at work quit unexpectedly so I've been covering him instead of farting around on my computer haha.

Anyways, roll bar mount is about the same as my RAM mount on my handlebars. It was cool, but works better on the Grom than the CB.

Here's what just happened to happen when I had the GoPro mounted to my forks when I last posted (Mustang was full throttle when I passed him at lower speeds):

In town, or 80MPH and below, CB1000R is faster, by kind of a lot. Triple digit speeds, forget it, Mustang is faster.
