Afternoon,

I came back from a ride out yesterday, and going round the town towards the end of the ride, I found that in 2nd gear at 3-4k RPMs then coming/easing off the throttle, it would do an initial jolt before settling down (when I say jolt, it's pretty rough). I noticed this a little in 3rd gear, but the other gears were all OK. (though have noticed quite a bit more engine vibration recently at 70mph)

If I give it a good going in 2nd gear, high RPM - there is no harsh jolt.

I never noticed this before (had the bike since 2017) so not sure whether it's the bike, or just me, so thought I'd see if anyone has any thoughts... Could a bad chain / sprockets cause this? :book

Thanks
M34 :)

Cheers for both of your replies. I'll take a look at tightening the chain tonight after work to see if it improves it! Fingers crossed...

@Tifa - see below for pics of chain slack.

If you haven't noticed it before then it sounds like something is coming loose quite quickly.

Check that the back wheel is locked into place correctly.
