Picked up my new beastie yesterday, I'm so impressed by the sheer overall quality of finish on the new CB, don't think I've ever seen better to be honest. Due to rubbish weather I've only done 25 miles so far so roll on some decent conditions.
These pictures are before any mods at all but that will soon change. And the old girl in the photos will still be well looked after, although they both need their downpipes polishing, probably tomorrow. :D

Congrats on the new bike Dave. I know what you mean about the quality of finish. First time I saw one at a dealer i was really impressed too. It certainly looked more striking than the pictures i’d Seen :thumbup

I haven't owned an older CB however I can say that riding my 17' CBR back to back with the 18" NSC, I always come off the CB thoroughly enjoying the ride which is saying something. Two totally different bikes with two different purposes but both very enjoyable. Congrats on the new bike Dave ;)

Thanks everybody, did the first [and very expensive] mod today, skint now but happy. And as the weather here has been horrible all day I started polishing up the pipes, they'll end up better than this but it's a start. ;) Just waiting on Evotech to have their tail tidy available again now.

So you went with the Black then - who would have guessed :rollin

Looking good Dave, enjoy :respekt

(i'm surprised those annoying little yellow blobs of paint have evaded your cotton bud cleaning regime)

Thanks Mel

The black is a lovely deep gloss, it had to be that in the end. And all those little paint blobs will soon be gone, give me a chance ! :D

Got out today for a nice little ride [and with the current weather I'll be out again for the next 3 days with a bit of luck:D]
Here's a couple of pictures, got a Yoshi tail tidy now as well as black V Trec levers and a silver Pro bolt oil filler cap -it's the little details that matter. :)

That's very true OC, there's absolutely nothing out there that I'd like more right now. :)

Thanks GR,That's the Yoshimura tail tidy, I was waiting for Evotech to get their version available but time dragged on and I gave up and got the Yoshi, glad I did as it's a real quality bit of kit.

Hmmm. Are we gonna see over 200hp?
Do you really want or need that in a road bike ? I gave my CB a proper handful through 2nd,3rd and 4th gears today in sport mode having reached 300 miles and it went past a mate on a 1200 Bandit [tuned too] who had his pinned as if he was standing still. He said I ruined his day. :D

I also own a 2012 CBR1000RR. I take it to the track, in addition to using it for commuting and riding twisties. It is too much for the street, but I wouldn't be upset by a power boost on the track.

Plus it would be nice to see the FireBlade with enough improvement to the consumer models to make it a better base platform for the track.

I highly doubt the 2020 will be using the same platform... right?

The bike isn't selling in the US, neither the CBR or the CB. Hope there's something all new coming down the pipeline to revitalize the brand a little.
