    180 miles from a tank ...?

I saw over 170 miles from a tank on the early model CB1000R, by touring gently with a female friend.

Yesterday I did a similar ride with my 2018 bike.

As you can see, average 44.5mpg (that's US gallons, so 56mpg UK gallons).

Yes clean my screen. It's dusty in California. I was averaging 46 till I did the last 20 miles on freeway at 90mph...

Tank is just shy of 4 US gallons which means it is good for close to 180 sedate miles on twisties. Average speed maybe 40mph.

That's pretty good mileage. My commute is all stoplights and stop signs, and I average sub 30mpg there. When I'm pushing it in the canyons, I get around 36-38. I've gotten 45ish mpg on the highway at around 70mph before.

    Forgot to post this.

I made 182.5 miles before I chickened out.

And I checked, the full capacity is 4.2 US gallons, so if I was brave i might have got close to 190. 200 is possible if I were to forever ride like a really really old man, but that's not happening.

Normal high speed service has resumed.

Hmmm. 182/4 gallons = 45.5 miles per US gallon. I wonder which measurement is adrift?

Wow, I’m nowhere near that. Normally 37 - 39mpg, but the Akra exhaust doesn’t help. Highway mileage is a killer - 80mph runs drop me down to 30ish.

I have a week of very mixed riding coming up. I’m very interested in seeing what mileage I get. If I get from Derby to Richmond on a tank I’ll be pleased. That’s 135’ish miles of motorway/freeway.

Hey now, sonny Jim, watch your mouth.-------If you rode like I do you wouldn't get even 30 mpg.

Of course it's what you mean by very, very old.---I'm 82 this September so I suppose I don't really qualify.

If you cruise around 80 and it's not too windy, you'll easily make it on a tank. I typically fill up at about 135, getting a steady 36 miles per US gallon, 45 in imperial gallons.
