i know (as a materials gingerbeer/scientist, i find it interesting)
the cold still compromised the flexibility of the "summer" tyre, and in the various replies, Bridgestone confirm that. but the massive cracks were real and likely caused by impact.
can still crack in cold without impact, as you know.

    in short.. move somewhere warmer

Respect to you oldcorollas..All i wanted to do was make members aware of the importance of checking your tyres. And just for info Bridgestone is not the only one with the problem, and that includes my choice of tyre..No signs of any problem at this time though, and a [MAJOR] improvement to riding..Original tyres gave me no confidence,so the crack made my mind up. [That goes without saying] Ride Safe..

Just got back from Spain yesterday having ridden almost 2500 miles on the NSC in less than two weeks with my new Michelin Road 5's.

Happy to report that these are truly magnificent tyres and gripped beautifully at all times, instilling confidence on those twisty Spanish roads, including the legendary A397 Ronda to Marbella and roads in the Picos De Europa.

Wear is nice and even across the rear tyre.

so far.. probably going to get 5-6000 out of the stock S21s....
unfortunately, too much straight roads for me
options for good wet\dry grip, but not trackday grip, and better centre tread life?
