    Re: rear paddock stand

I am going to use the single sided stand for everyday maintenance (chain cleaning, etc.) and the double sided stand with spindle bobbins for winter storage.

Managed to get a pair of Oxford front/rear paddock stands from the NEC last year for 70 Pounds and a single sided paddaock stand for 60 Pounds. Really pleased with them all.

    Re: rear paddock stand

WE've a singlesided paddock stand but I don't like it.
When i'm spinning the wheel to lube or clean the chain, it keeps wanting to slid off the thing there are rubber O rings on the end of the shaft for stopping this,'but they don't work'.

I have all the R&G bobbins already fitted to thhe wheels so asumed this would be best....

some people are already doing it this way, just don't spin the wheel to quickly, you'll make a groove in the nylon bobbin.

Why dont you just get a harris single sided paddock stand, it comes with a threaded rod that goes through the wheel and screws into the pin and you just tighten up the nut and lock it to the wheel so you can spin the rear wheel with out it sliding off of the stand.

Couldn't agree more...a few extra quid, but rock steady & a doddle to use on your own.
