I think it is personal choice and one that is respected - but that doesn't make it a recommendation but just an opinion - I use what the manufacturer and general biking population agree is the best way to protect your engine - period - anything else is anecdotal ...

It's fine if that's what you want to use and I'm really not surprised that you haven't had any trouble for reasons I stated earlier, but it's most certainly NOT the right spec. Personal opinion or experience is one thing, but lets not spread misinformation.

There are three important specs and Castrol GTX only meets 2 of them. It most certainly does contain the friction modifiers that are to be avoided with wet clutches.

I've noticed over the years and on many forums I visit that there is always someone with a different view to other folk.

The fact that bike manufacturers spend tens of thousands of pounds on research for the best oils to put in their bikes doesn't seem to effect these folk at all.---

I guess they could always know more than the rest of us-------------------

and there must be at least a 1,000,000 to one chance they are correct.---

However I think you would be more likely to be struck by lightening before that happened.-----

Castrol Power 1 fully synth is excellent - very smooth transmission and works brilliantly with regular changes - tried Motul and the gear box was nowhere near as slick - perfectly good high quality oil !

Since it came out that is all I have ever used in my bikes. Never had any trouble at all using it and will continue to do so.---
