First ride after first service - first impressions

Picked the bike up from the dealers and headed straight for some open roads, but sadly they were too busy to get much over 120. A lot of windblast at that speed, and has anyone else noticed the bike suffers a bit in sidewinds?

I certainly couldn't fault the engine, plenty of power to get up to 120 and beyond very quickly, but i agree with others that the suspension needs some setting up, it felt pretty stable, but I'm sure it could be better.

To be honest, I'll no doubt try and see where the bike maxes out, but the idea of holding that sort of speed for long on a naked bike is a non-starter, for me, at least. I'm not prepared to lie flat on the tank and feel my neck muscles grow by the minute!

The acceleration is good, but I can't help feeling that a bigger rear sprocket might make better use of all that power, the loss of a few, unusable, mph at the top wouldn't make a huge difference but it would get you there even faster!

So, the bike is comfortable, fast, and am I glad I bought one? Oh yes!

I don't think it suffers any more than most nakeds from side-wind, certainly no more than my Hornet did. Personally I find that sometimes it's a pain to keep my knees in though as the wind tries to spread my legs (oo-er!)

I've read in a few reviews about the leg-spreading effect of the CB. It my be the way I ride (traditional style, quite tucked in, and the only time my knee is going down is if I fall off!) but I've not noticed it at all. It would be interesting to hear if anyone else gets this effect. I suppose that, with no fairing, the wind is bound to push out anything that's not tucked in, in the same way it does on a custom.
