Noticed a couple of small chips on the black painted parts of the engine.

I want to touch them up (no not in that way) bad choice of words.

Has anyone used Halfords very heat resistant paint?

It says it is ok up to 600 degrees - haven't got a clue if that is enough or does the CB run hotter ?

Also I have read on this site there are some issues with the paint on the sump - would this paint be ok for that also ?????

That stuff is supposed to be ok on your exhaust let alone engine casings, if i remeber correctly it dries a not pleaseant matt, someone correct me if its changed.
I'm sure there used to be a product called engine black but i guess the casings are coated with something else nowadays

I would test it on something first to see if it dries anything like the right shade of black

I have got a pot of that paint. I did my cat with it...... No probs so far, but like previously stated. Try for a match first.

Did my cat with that stuff too. It dries to a darker grey than black. Got loads of chip marks on the cat too now, gonna have to do it again over the winter I think. Plenty of those resurfaced road chippings in the West Country last week.
