 Insurance time of year....
Had a text from swinton giving me 30 days notice for my insurance, Decided to do the online MNC compare, swinton came out at 161 +25 for Legals.
Phoned them up for my renewal quotion, that came out at £250.26. Mentioned my online quote he matched it (ok added a 5er for doing it over phone) and came to a total of £196.15.
After my depressing insurance year of 2006 where I had to make 2 total loss claims its nice to see my insurance getting cheaper after a couple of years at a premium. jumped from £250 to £550 that year. But insurance did what it says on the tin and I was able to replace the bikes and ride again.
So always best to do the online quotes before you speak to people about your renewal. Brokers are a business so will try to take a wedge on top unless you can squeeze them a bit.

Hi, Thats a nice insurance quote as far as i know, mine is much higher. just wondered how old you are (if you dont mind me asking) and how long have you been riding roughly? Of course you don't have to tell. In fact is your quote for fully comp or 3rd party etc? I'm 26 and been riding since I was 16 on scooters/bikes etc. Full no claims bonus. Its been £600 fully comp for me on the CB1R for this first year (in London), just wondered how that compared to others....... James

 Re: Insurance time of year....
Not bad in the UK, i've been riding for 13 years, only one claim to my own fault in all those years and my insurance full comp (all risk in the Netherlands) costs me € 456 and this is with the company that does all my insurance so lot cheaper than all the others.
Allways wondering why we in Holland get screwed over so much in comparison to some other countrys, fuel is ridiculous, taxes on bikes and cars making them about 30-35% more expensive, insurance 2-3 times more expensive and i buy all my aftermarket stuff in the UK, Even with shipping 25% cheaper.

Been riding since 1988, Quote was fully comp. There were slightly cheaper quotes but for a tenner its not worth the hassle moving to another insurer. In the next couple of years I should be back on the min I can get insured for.

 Re: Insurance time of year....
Every year i ring round and get cheaper quotes than my renewal, then go back to my current insurer and they either match or almost match the other quotes. Saved £35 off my renewal price this year. Now down to £161.
The definition of suspense is ...

 Re: Insurance time of year....
You've got to ring around. My renewal was over £200, but I halved it with Carole Nash. There is no point in being loyal with these sharks !
