    Newbie to the forum

    Hello everyone.

Finally i have joined this wonderfull forum, been a lurker for a little while ever since I purchased my CB1000RA.

I have previously ridden lots of different types of bikes, ranging from hard and soft enduros, supersports and finally settling down with naked street bikes.. My most recent bike was the wonderful, 2008 Honda CB600FA-8, in black, with which I fell in love I still have it, but I am passing it on to a friend of mine.

I bought 2013 CB1000RA and currently it has 1,700 km. on the clock.

Some minor modifications include: rear mud-guard (or whatever it is called), Puig sliders, akrapovic, adjustable clutch and brake handles and ofcourse the controversial Puig wind screen.

Before you bash me about putting a wind-screen on a naked bike, I only use it in early spring and late autumn, as I live in a place where riding is only possible for around 6-7 months. So riding without it in the early or late season gets very uncomfortable

Anyone care to explain what is the purpose of the tube that goes across the hole used for filling up the petrol tank? How do you actually fill up the tank?

Anyways, nice to finally become part of this forum and community

Welcome! Nice pair of bikes there! I hope you enjoy the new bike and your friend enjoys the Hornret.

There is a big fuel pump assembly in there on one side and a delicate fuel meter on the other side. The bar is to keep you from sticking a fuel nozzle down in the tank and damaging either component. This is an educated guess, I haven't been able to find verification yet.

Actually the correct answer is that it's there to rest your fag on while filling up. .....

p.s. welcome to the site pal.
