A lot of spray and dirt hitting my back?

Lads have any of you had a problem with the rear wheel throwing a lot of dirt off the road. I was out today and the roads are quite dirty after the recent snow. The pillion seat was covered in dirt and so is my back. The bike has a tail tidy on but I think it's too short it is allowing a lot of crud to be thrown up. Have any of you had the same problem?

this is definitely a shortcoming of the CB1000R's tight-tapered tail-section. if you searched back thru posts from 3 or 4 or 5 years ago, you'd find the same complaint coming up. and a hugger doesn't change a thing - it's too far forward, and the spray is rising off the trailing edge of the tire. graft on a Multistrada fender?

p.s. nice looking bike, btw... lotsa sweet little elements...

Now i am a fair weather rider i can not say i have noticed , i guess every luxury item like the CB has its drawbacks, a small price to pay i think.

Nice bike.... i have the same colour scheme with the same exhaust ! But minus the wheel tape, front exhaust thingy and that red circle bit in the engine.

No tail tidy. No dirty back. In spite of being caught in the rain quite a few times over the last six years.---

Yuuuuup. Only had mine a few months and its one of the first things I noticed. Never had a bike with this problem. I've got around it though by tying a bucket in place on the pillion seat so it catches all the spray and crap. If you buy a red bucket it will go well with the rest of the bike.

If you have a tail tidy on, you're doomed - it's like riding a push bike with no mudguard in the rain - small price to pay for a neat tail ! Stuff on the original tail guard and an extender if you want a dry back !
